Once upon a time...

That’s how all good fairytales begin. And that was how my life with dachshunds began.

In 1981 I bought my first dachshund and half a year later the second one.
Shows and breeding were far from my mind. And if anyone had asked me back then if I considered any of that I would have said no, that is not part of the picture.
But as time went on, shows got my interest and as I actually had bought a bitch that came from excellent old bloodlines (Tueholt) even breeding began to sound interesting.

So for my first litter I choose Tueholt’s Leander as sire and in 1985 the litter was born. I kept the only bitch of this litter “Olivia” and she became the  ancestress of my kennel. I then registered “Kennel Ved Skoven’s” in 1987.

In 1990 Olivia was bred to DKCHG Tueholt’s Urax who come from the best Scandinavian bloodlines. From that litter I got the most important bitch  for the kennel till date: Ved Skoven’s Anna Karenika (DKCHG, KBHV95, SV96, SCH, NCH, INTCH, NORDCH, KLBCH).

Not only is she multi Champion but she is also a healthy and strong bitch that has bred many fantastic dogs of high quality. Most remarkable were perhaps the two times she was bred by Løvehjerte ShowBizz (SCHG, DKCHG, FINCHG, NORDCH, NORV96, INTCH).
Both litters gave World Winners: Ved Skoven’s Hattrick Lee and Ved Skoven’s Madonna. Also the sister Ved Skoven’s Honey Mega Bitz has also obtained excellent results on shows both nationally and internationally : DKCHG, KBVH98, SCHG, INTCH.

In these breedings old Danish bloodlines were united with the best American bloodlines. That’s why my expectations were high as I in 2002 once again introduced American blood into my breeding programme.
This time the choice fell on an imported male from Kennel Hi-Li and he has fully satisfied my expectations. DKCHS
Hi-Li Sequoia has given additional elegance, strong front and beautiful heads to my breeding.

It has always been the aim of Kennel Ved Skoven’s to breed healthy and beautiful dogs for both showing and for family pets.

All the adults and the pups live in the house as valued members of the household!
